Design Process

Project Preliminary, Deposits and Work Order

The first thing you will need to do is fill out our Project Preliminary(PP) and send it to us. We welcome you to contact us in conjunction with mailing the PP if you’d like, but it is the answers you provide in the PP that will give us the details required to get a more accurate idea of what you are looking for and the breadth and scope of your project. We want to provide you with the most reliable cost quote as well as tentative start date so the more detail you can provide in the PP, the better.

Do be sure to note that the cost quote we provide is determined by the scale, scope and complexity of your project and what we estimate will be the time frame for completion. It is the information we receive on the Project Preliminary as well as any other information you provide that determines this estimate.

Remember, this is an initial cost estimate. If after payment is made and work is started you decide to change the scope of your project, add any extra services or you misrepresented your needs on the Project Preliminary, you will be billed (usually upon project completion) for any extra time incurred over the initial estimate and project will not be let go to client until all of these costs have been paid.

50% of the total cost quote is due prior to the start of any work. It secures your project’s place in our schedule. Work will not begin until required deposit is received. The final payment will be due upon project completion before complete control is handed over from designer to client. PayPal is preferred however we may also accept Google Checkout, check or money order.

After deposit is made you will be contacted regarding when work on your project will be scheduled to begin. Please be advised this may be anywhere from a few days to a few months away depending on current work load. Designs are completed in the order in which they are received. Rush orders are possible however, there will be a 20% price increase.

Design, Approval, Installation and Testing

The Design and Installation process time is dependent on the scope and complexity of your project.

We will work with you while also referring to the information provided in the Project Preliminary to to provide a mock up of your new website which we will send to you for your feedback and/or approval. Design includes up to two full mock-ups and up to 4 minor revisions in achieving the final mock up. It is very important that, after the first mock-up, you detail every change that you wish to be made for your final mock-up so that we may complete the design to your satisfaction and in a timely fashion.

After your final mock-up is complete and approved by you, the installation process begins. Your designer will need any pertinent information necessary to install your new design (i.e. CMS log in information, ftp/cpanel username and password, etc.). Please set up a temporary password if necessary.

You will have a chance once the design is installed to consider and detail any minor changes you wish to be made. Imagery and layout cannot be changed at this point as that was approved by you in the mock-up stage however smaller changes may be made such as link and text colors, margins, content additions, etc. Please list all changes, and we will try to implement all of your requests. Fresh Blog Designs reserves the right to say when you have exhausted our services, so please stay within reason.

Once all final changes have been made and you have approved everything your new design will be tested live. Fresh Blog Designs cannot guarantee our designs will view correctly in every single browser and/or platform. We will do our best to ensure that your new design is functional in the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera, Netscape and Safari for Windows and Mac but cannot guarantee it will be the same for other browsers/platforms (especially older ones or ones in beta). If you use a different browser or platform, and would like a design done to meet that browser or platform’s specifications, please consult with us. (Additional fees may apply.)

Completion

Once your design is completely installed and everything is to your satisfaction you assume all responsibility of your site. If after completion you feel you need major revisions or additions to your project you will be scheduled as a new work order, and will have to wait behind any clients we may be already committed to and will be billed accordingly.
